Electronic Arts and Hothead Games will release a follow-up to DeathSpank later this year.

DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue (yeah) is due out for PlayStation 3 via PSN on 21st September for €14.99, and for Xbox Live Arcade on 22nd September for 1200 Microsoft Points (£10.20 / €14.40).

(With that said, the discrepancy between US and European PlayStation Store updates probably means that both will be released on Wednesday, 22nd September on this side of the pond.)

Thongs of Virtue will chart the hackandslasher's progress across a war-torn continent, taking in the North Pole and the high seas as he attempts to recover six mystical thongs and destroy them.

"We're taking action RPG fundamentals and adding loads of new creatures, environments, weapons and characters, while continuing to push the envelope with our signature humour," said Vlad Ceraldi, director of game development at Hothead.
