A Skyrim fan has recreated the game's map in Age of Empires 2.

The strategy game includes a mode where players can build their own custom maps and campaigns.

That's exactly what reddit user Grouchy_Bluejay4511 has done, creating all of Skyrim as a custom map.

The user boasts the campaign includes over 50 quests, 100 unique characters, and allows players to command one of the Holds vying to take over Skyrim.

The screenshots shared on the reddit post show recognisable locations from Bethesda's RPG, including Whiterun, Riften and Windhelm.

Though not yet available, Grouchy_Bluejay4511 noted in the comments they plan to upload the campaign to the Steam Workshop modding store once tested for bugs, though did not give a date.

Age of Empires 4: Anniversary Edition, the latest in the strategy series, was recently released on Xbox - see the trailer above.

Bethesda, meanwhile, has just released the long-awaited Starfield. "Starfield pairs near-impossible breadth with a classic Bethesda aptitude for systemic physics, magnetic sidequests, and weird vignettes. But in sacrificing direct exploration for the sake of sheer scale, there's nothing to bind it together," reads Eurogamer's Starfield review.
