SCi management team quits

Following reported shareholder revolt.

Jane Cavanagh, Bill Ennis and Rob Murphy have stepped down from their respective positions at SCi Entertainment and left the company, GamesIndustry.biz reports.

The move comes just days after shareholders reportedly pressured the board to remove the senior management following their failure to secure a sale of the Tomb Raider publisher.

Cavanagh held the CEO position, while husband Ennis was managing director of publishing and Rob Murphy held the position of managing director of studios.

Group CFO Phil Rogers now takes Cavanagh's place as chief executive after only joining the company in March 2007, while US CFO Malcolm Dunne will take Rogers' position while a permanent solution is sought.

The company stated that is has also received funding proposals from potential partners following the decision earlier in the year to delay key titles such as Tomb Raider: Underworld and reassess its capital needs.

"Led by Phil, the Board has already commenced a root and branch review of the Company's strategy and will report back to shareholders on our findings and recommendations within our clear timetable," said the company in a statement.

SCi intends to inform shareholders of review findings and an update of its financial discussions by the end of February, along with interim results for the six months ended December 31.

Before joining SCi, Phil Rogers was vice president of corporate development for Electronic Arts, specialising in business acquisitions. He has also held senior executive positions at MathEngine and Criterion.
