Atlus is remaking bizarre block-climbing puzzler Catherine for PS4 and Vita

DarkEternal

Ah, this is great. :) I'm especially glad since Atlus never bothered to fix the Axis Mundi stage of Babel after somehow breaking it whilst localising Catherine.

@daystranger It's equivalent to the 100 tier on Kickstarter -- it'd be unfair if they reduced the price now. Plus you get other stuff, obviously; all future expansion packs for free, for example.

One of my favourite JRPGs! :)

The team AI was so atrocious that it made me really quite angry as to why it was so bad compared to everything else. I mean it was awful. o.o The fact that I love the game so much in spite of that is saying a lot. :P

...Also, the Wizard's Companion in the collector's edition is probably the best special edition item I've ever gotten with a game, by a long way.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 review

DarkEternal

@Crosshash To be fair, I thought FF13 had the best combat in the series to date... but only once the combat system had fully opened up after the 30-hour tutorial. :| The best (open-world) parts were AFTER completing the main story, lol.

Age of Empires 2 HD review

DarkEternal

@HotCoffee It's a great game, sure, in the same way that the original was a great game... but to me it seems disingenuous to call it 'HD' when it's essentially just a resolution hack such as we've been able to get for years already (http://www.wsgf.org/dr/age-empires-ii-conquerors-expansion/en).

I suppose the other (non-graphical) improvements are nice, though.

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes review

DarkEternal

@darkmorgado Indeed. :) I bought an iPad specifically because there were lots of PROPER games that I wanted to play on it.

It's a nice counterpoint to my other systems, and it's always annoying when people who obviously don't have one and have no idea what they're talking about come along and post snide, sneering remarks about the quality of games that they have decided in their brains are available (for some reason). :P

PlayStation Store patch should speed navigation

DarkEternal

@vizzini Ah, sounds like I've been lucky so far. :\ The search functionality is one of the most important aspects of the store, so it'd be nice if they made sure it was up to scratch before replacing the old version.

DarkEternal

@Goodfella The search interface is a bit confusing at first, but after having some time to get used to it I actually prefer it now; I mean, it prevents one from entering search terms that won't yield any results.

...Unless some people WANT to search for stuff that won't be found, of course. ;)
