Valve slammed over "horrendous" Steam school-shooting game

BellyFullOfHell

Don't get me wrong, I find the game in poor taste. But I also find it astonishing that anyone could find a game abiut school shootings uncomfortable, while still defending the right to bear the arms that are causing the problem out in the real world.

NES Classic Edition back up for pre-order

@banjo21

Each to their own, I got mine and got the 96 exits on Mario World, completed Yoshi's Island and Metroid, and am currently debating whether to start FFVI or Zelda next. Love having an older game on the go alongside my current stuff - something where I can make progress in half hourly or hourly increments.

A vote of confidence for new arcade co-op shmup I Hate Running Backwards

Looks smart. Although I really need to knock it off keep pickjng up these overhead games. Sank way too much time into Isaac, have only scratched the surface of Nex Machina and Gungeon, playing way too much Iron Crypticle, and still have Miami 2, Android Assault Cactus, and Titan Souls untouched. This does look my bag though.....

The mobile version is one of the best OutRun clones I've played (and I've played a few), just seems a tad on the pricey side to me. Unless they've mucked something up while porting it though, it's huge fun.

@Diji1

I had one. Sadly had to sell up when I split with my wife. Weird machine, the console weighed next to nothing, but the carts were heavy AS hell. At the time (some 15 years ago), the earlier games could be picked up between £50-£80.Most I ever paid was around £200 for a Waku Waku 7 cart. Probably sold my stuff for around ten times less than it's worth now :-(

BellyFullOfHell

2 weeks ago

@the_ewan

I'm glad you pointed out this simple fact. The PS2 was back compat with the PS1, and the original PS3 with both 1&2. Sony don't have to get permission from anyone to release a machine that plays PS1, PS2 or PS3 games, anymore than the manufactures of the various new NES/SNES consoles do. I presume MS do as they're making alterations or additions to the original code.

Street Fighter 2. The no jumping kick then throw while the other player is still locked rule. Which I inevitably broke if I was losing. I remember once playing SFII with my cousin where I won about 10 matches in a row as cessily as possible, laughing and jeering in his face like a loon after every win. He snapped, and started kick g the shit out of me, but I was in utter hysterics at this point, and every time he threw a punch it just made me laugh harder. Fun times.

I feel sad that I never managed to get into any of their games. I tried Vanquish a number of times, and although I loved it every time I started it, I always lost interest around halfway through. The idea and execution of Transformers Devastation would have been my dream game as a kid, but even that got tiring after a few hours. One day.
