Penny Arcade game doing XBLA

Due out in early 2008.

Penny Arcade's episodic adventure game - On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness - is coming to Xbox Live Arcade as well as PC, developer Hothead Games confirmed at the web-comic's annual expo.

Already set for Windows, Linux and Mac via digital distribution this year, OtRSPoD Episode 1 is set to pop up on Xbox Live Arcade in early 2008. Other episodes will follow on all four.

Hothead's Vlad Ceraldi applauded XBLA, saying that digital distribution "lets indie game developers innovate and experiment with new gameplay concepts". He also reportedly confirmed a sub-USD 20 price point per episode.

All that follows recent news that Monkey Island creator Ron Gilbert is contributing to the project, which aims to make real the exploits of PA creators Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik's alter-egos Tycho and Gabe.
