Nintendo making economy game

New DS game will save the world.

Nintendo has decided to make learning about the economy a bit more fun, although in the current climate that probably won't take much doing. The result is a deal with Tokyo stock market index Nikkei to reproduce financial figures on the DS.

The game aims to give us all a sound grasp of the economy, according to Trading Markets; how it works, what those funny acronyms mean, and presumably how to do those crazy hand gestures and hang phones over your shoulder.

Quizzes will periodically test whether all this has sunk in, and controls will be touch-screen based. And that's that.

We've contacted Nintendo about European plans, but we don't expect too much back. England does tend to be a bit of a Northern Rock shambles on the stock market, though, so perhaps this game will find an audience.
