Amped 2 to feature snowskating

Taking the piste?

Microsoft tells us that Xbox-exclusive Amped 2 will be the first snowboarding game to feature the new alternative practice of "snowskating". We don't really get it, but we're told to "Think skateboarding on the snow, with a small board rather than wheels under a skate-sized deck."

Apparently snowskating was invented by Andy Wolf, a professional snowboarder who locked himself away in his garage one day and developed a twin-tipped, skateboard-sized snowboard with a foam top sheet for grip, allowing snowboarders to perform kickflips, ollies, nose slides, tweaks, stalls and rails like a skateboarder. Hence "snowskating".

Anyway, according to Microsoft, snowskating will be easy to pick up in Amped 2, but will be complex and difficult enough to keep gamers coming back and developing their skills. Snowskate will be integrated into the game's career mode.
