Get your friends on Live, get a free game

Microsoft launches a free game promotion in order to try and secure your friends' subscription to the Xbox Live online gaming service.

With Halo 2 doubtless already boosting Xbox Live subscriptions around the globe, Microsoft is going for broke this month with the announcement that for every friend you can encourage to sign up for the Xbox online gaming service between now and January 31st 2005, you'll receive a free game of your choice.

And it's a decent selection too. Sign up a friend and you could get your hands on any of Midtown Madness 3, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, Counter-Strike, Links 2004, Sudeki, Ninja Gaiden, Fable, RalliSport Challenge 2, Project Gotham Racing 2, and Top Spin - and there's nary a disappointment among 'em, although we didn't think that much of Sudeki.

You can't argue with freebies, so if you can think of people you know who are likely to sign up for Xbox Live in the near future, check out the Friends For Live website and get ready to play.
