Warner Bros., Ubi Soft bring Matrix online

Warner Bros. and Ubi Soft have joined forces to co-publish The Matrix Online, which is expected to go beta this year, and release sometime in 2004. The massively multiplayer title apparently features a rich storyline - picking up from where The Matrix Revelations will leave off - permeating throughout a persistent game world that enables thousands of players to slowly kick each other in the head at the same time.

Monolith is currently beavering away at the title and - if what we've heard about the current Matrix game is anything to go by - hopefully they can do a better job than Shiny of bringing the hot property to our screens.
