New PSP battery next month

"No plans" from SCEE. Boo!

Sony has announced plans to release a new battery pack for the PSP next month in the USA. However, Sony UK has said that there are "currently no plans" to release it over here.

Called the PSP Extended Life Battery Kit, it's a 2200 mAh battery pack that "can double the battery life of the new PSP model". Ooh.

The downside is that it's slightly thicker than the old one, so Sony has had to include a pair of custom covers for the black and silver versions and your PSP will have one breast bigger than the other.

It's also compatible with the PSP Chunky, where it will not require any cosmetic surgery.

The Sony blog announcement says it will be on the US market in mid-December for USD 44.99, and you can marvel at its good looks in our PSP Extended Life Battery Kit gallery.
