Huge Memory Stick for PSP

Sony has unveiled a fancy new 16GB Memory Stick PRO Duo, which is good news for those of you who like to store a lot of save game files wink wink for use on your PSP.

It whipped the wrappers off the stamp-sized hardware at the recent Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, promising to push it on US consumers for USD 300 in March. Sony Europe says it will be out here in the same time-frame.

According to the release, which is busy promoting it to camera fans, "Users can store up to 110 minutes of high-definition video recorded in 1920 mode, almost 6 hours of HD video when shooting in 1440 LP mode, and more than 4000 still pictures in 10 Megapixel resolution."

Lots of memory for lots of money, then, and also useful if you watch films or download lots of PSOne games on your PSP. Or if you have a video camera or fancy high-resolution snapper.
