Forza Horizon 4, Ori and the Will of the Wisps getting Xbox Series X optimisations this year

Plus Seas of Thieves and more.

Microsoft has tossed another batch of titles onto its steadily expanding list of Xbox One games that'll be receiving Xbox Series X enhancements come the console's launch later this year, including Forza Horizon 4, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, and more.

Forza Horizon 4, for instance, will feature native 4K support at 60 fps on Xbox Series X, with Microsoft also promising Quick Resume support and "dramatically improved" load times. Developer Moon Studios' gorgeous sequel Ori and the Will of the Wisps , meanwhile, will deliver 120 fps at 4K with HDR support on the console.

Elsewhere, a Gears Tactics update will make the game playable in 4K at 60fps on Series X, and Microsoft says to also expect enhancements to Rare's glorious multiplayer pirate adventure Sea of Thieves, although it hasn't yet specified what these might be.

All of the above will feature Smart Delivery support, meaning those that own the Xbox One versions will be able to upgrade to Xbox Series X optimised editions for free, and all updates will be available through Game Pass when they launch this "holiday".

Microsoft's official list of games so far announced to be receiving Xbox Series X optimisations and enhancements, then, looks a little something like this:

  • The Ascent
  • Assassin's Creed Valhalla
  • Bright Memory: Infinite
  • Call of the Sea
  • Chorus
  • DiRT 5
  • Forza Horizon 4
  • Gears 5
  • Gears Tactics
  • The Medium
  • Ori and the Will of the Wisps
  • Scarlet Nexus
  • Scorn
  • Sea of Thieves
  • Second Extinction
  • Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2
  • Yakuza: Like a Dragon
