Epic boasts of Unreal Engine domination at E3

Lists more than 25 titles on show that used its tech.

Epic's Unreal Engine 3 was the game developer's tech platform of choice at this year's E3, judging by an impressive list published by the developer today on its official blog.

More than 25 different games on the showfloor were powered by its popular engine, surely more than any of its competition can boast.

Here's an edited selection of said titles:

  • Aliens: Colonial Marines
  • Batman: Arkham City - Armored Edition
  • Borderlands 2
  • Devil May Cry
  • Dishonored
  • Dust 514
  • Fable: The Journey
  • Gears of War: Judgment
  • Infinity Blade: Dungeons
  • Injustice: Gods Among Us
  • Lollipop Chainsaw
  • Lost Planet 3
  • Mass Effect 3: Wii U Edition
  • Papo & Yo
  • Quantum Conundrum
  • Spec Ops: The Line
  • Star Wars 1313
  • Transformers: Fall of Cybertron
  • XCOM: Enemy Unknown

Epic did indeed have a high profile show, offering the first public demo of the impending Unreal Engine 4, which you can see below.

"It's all about active lighting, with a million particles on screen and lens flare that would make JJ Abrams happy in his pants," wrote Eurogamer's Oli Welsh in his Best of E3 round-up.

It does have some competition though - Crytek today claimed that its CryEngine 3 tech is just as capable and next gen-ready as UE4.
