EA's MOBA Dawngate is in open beta

Give it a shot.

Dawngate, EA's crowbar into the MOBA market, is playable in open beta now. Head to the game's website and sign-up to play.

Developed by Waystone Games, Dawngate sets out to do a couple of things differently to other MOBAs. There's character customisation, and regenerating towers called Bindings, which offer a battered team a way back in to a battle. There's resource gathering, too, in the shape of Spirit Wells. These create additional workers over time that gradually increase the amount of nearby resources (one kind) you harvest, but these workers can be killed by the other team and the Spirit Well can change team-hands.

Whether it can make any dent whatsoever on Dota 2 or League of Legends, and withstand the upcoming Heroes of the Storm remains to be seen.
