Duke Nukem 2 coming to iOS next month

To commemorate its 20th anniversary.

Before Duke Nukem arose as one of gaming's crudest characters he starred in a couple of relatively innocuousness 2D platformers. The second of which, Duke Nukem 2, is heading to iOS this April to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

It will cost $1.99.

The iOS port is being handled by Interceptor Entertainment in conjunction with 3D Realms. This is actually the second Apogee game Interceptor will have worked on as it's currently in the process of remaking Apogee's 1994 FPS Rise of the Triad.

Duke Nukem 2 spans 32 stages and this enhanced port will feature new music and artwork with "insane VGA graphics."

"Before Duke Nukem 3D, before the sunglasses, before the one-liners, and before the strippers - many gamers never knew there was another incredible alien ass-kicking Duke game, a cutting-edge game for its time that still holds up 20 years later," said CEO and co-founder of 3D Realms, Scott Miller.

Check out the two decade old action below in the iOS port announcement trailer.
