Sega cans Vectorman

But Altered Beast is still alive and well.

"Sega has decided not to continue with the Vectorman project at this time," a spokesman for the publisher has told IGN this week, confirming rumours that have been floating around the Internet unguarded.

However, in response to a similar rumour, the same rep commented that "Altered Beast is still coming," blaming Sega's recent internal studio reshuffle for things being relatively quiet. "Look for things to take off again after Sonic Heroes comes out in January," the rep said.

Interestingly, Sega's most recent schedule lists Altered Beast for PS2 as a 2004 game, but Vectorman doesn't make it onto the sheet, despite the presence of potentially distant titles like Headhunter: Redemption and Blood Will Tell (Dororo).
