New Far Cry, POP, Splinter Cell
Ubi says it's 'displeased' by seemingly accidental FTP upload.
Ubisoft is working on a Far Cry sequel, a PSP version of Far Cry, a new Prince of Persia game, a Rocky title for PSP, and a fifth Splinter Cell game subtitled Conviction.
That's according to the contents of a 2GB RAR archive uploaded to a public FTP location on Ubi.com, and picked up on by the ever vigilant hordes on the Gaming Age forums.
Assets for all those games were found in the archive, along with screenshots, artwork, and even tech demo videos for the some of Assassin's Creed, Far Cry Wii, Lost, Naruto on Xbox 360, Open Season, Rainbow Six: Vegas, Surf's Up, Star Wars: Lethal Alliance on PSP, Shaun White Snowboarding and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, all of which have been previously announced.
Naturally the archive's been removed now, but if Ubisoft's legal department does plan to shut down the forum thread on NEOGAF where some of the contents have been posted, then they haven't got around to it yet. Perhaps they're spread a little thin right now.
Ubisoft UK has been in touch and issued the following statement: "We are clearly displeased that confidential information from Ubisoft has been distributed on the internet. The publication of this type of information can only be harmful to the game development process and we will take all steps necessary to prevent this from happening in the future. We are still investigating the events that lead to this information leak and at this time have no further comment."
