Lionheart goes gold

Or is finally allowed to go gold, depending on the rumour you believe.

Reflexive Entertainment's Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader has gone gold according to VU Games and Interplay in the States, and will presumably appear over here sometime after the game's August US date, courtesy of Avalon née Virgin Interactive. Word at our favourite pub, The Grapevine's Sewing Circle, is that it might have done so a long while ago if it wasn't for the state of the publisher at the time.

For those who haven't noticed, Lionheart is a "fast paced, real-time RPG" which tells an alternative story of medieval history, in which one fateful event during the Third Crusade in 1588 AD has diverged human history. Magic energy and powerful spirits now stalk the earth, ready to be channelled by those who comprehend the power (that must've been one heck of a fateful event), and it's into this peculiar mix of history and fantasy that our aspiring crusader is flung. Lionheart employs the same system of character advancement as Fallout, and boasts over 60 spells to learn.

We'll let you know when it pops up with any certainty on our release radar.
