Square-Enix's E3 line-up

PS2's final fantasy.

Squenix's E3 line-up was released today, centring rather obviously on the upcoming Final Fantasy XII for PS2 and mentioning nothing of a next-generation release for the franchise other than Xbox 360 and PC FFXI expansion, Treasures of Aht Urhgan.

But why force yourself into next-gen monster hardware when your current gen stuff's this exciting? Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII (set three years after the original FFVII), Dawn of Mana and Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria will all be shown for PS2, as well as the highly regarded twelfth instalment in the ubiquitous Final Fantasy franchise.

DS will also be getting hefty support from the Japanese firm this year, with FFIII, Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (produced by the same team behind the lovely Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King) and Children of Mana all being shown for the Nintendo machine in LA this week.

FFV Advance and FFVI Advance make up the GBA offering from Squeenix this year, while Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth – the same as the original release but with new cut-scenes – is the single PSP title from the publisher at E3 this year.
