Halo Interview

I remember clearly the first time I saw the AVI of Halo, and gasping in shock at the claim that it was being rendered in real time, it was actual footage, not a movie. How can something look this good actually in game, well Halo plans to answer these questions. In case you are one of the few not straining at the lead to get your hands on it. Bungie are the fine people making Halo, and as far as we can tell, they are doing a fine job aswell. It is being aimed at the same type of person who would play Tribes 2 or Team Fortress 2. The shots and information make it seem very like Starseige Tribes, a game with a massive worldwide online community.

The chaps at Rampancy have posted an interview Jaime "Case" Griesemer, one of the team behind the game. Jamie is the lead designer on Halo, whose work is making us all gasp with its excellence. Jamie used to run a fan site for Myth 2, and like a dream he ended up on the team of the games he loved.

"I met Max, Bungie's webmaster, through the Codex and since I lived in Chicago they hired me to come in part-time and do some in-house testing on Myth II". Well, he must have done a good job as, "after Myth II shipped I just kept coming in to work. I was the Head Bungie.net Admin for a little while, and then Jason [Jones] asked me to join the Halo team"

A lot of people are unhappy with the disappearance of the single person FPS game, but Halo is seeking to address this unbalance. "A single-player component is absolutely crucial, even for a multiplayer team game like Halo. It sets the mood for the entire game, it provides context and structure for the multiplayer game and it gives us a chance to explore a much broader range of experiences. No multiplayer-only game could ever capture the sense of heroism and discovery that we are shooting for in our single-player game."
