There's a new turn-based Warhammer 40,000 strategy game in the works

And it stars the Space Wolves.

I love me some Space Wolves. When I was big into building armies and painting figurines, the grey ones were my go-to Space Marine chapter. It was something about their unfussy nature. That, and the big bad wolves bits of their armour.

Anyway, the Space Wolves are set to star in a new Warhammer 40,000 game (yes, another one). This one's a turn-based strategy game, so it's not like Relic's upcoming real-time strategy Warhammer 40,000 game, Dawn of War 3. It's called Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach and it's made by StrayLight Entertainment, which I hadn't heard of. According to StrayLight's Facebook page, Sanctus Reach has been in development for the best part of a year.

The publisher is Slitherine, which I have heard of. Slitherine published the well-received turn-based strategy game Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon.

Sanctus Reach has a Steam page up and running (thanks, RPS). Here's the official blurb:

Sanctus Reach is described as a "fast, immediate" 3D turn-based strategy game. You play as the Space Wolves against the Orks in two story-driven campaigns: Stormclaw and Hour of the Wolf. Here's the teaser trailer:

In the game, you spend your points, make your list, choose your deployment, and fight, which sounds like an accurate recreation of the Warhammer 40,000 tabletop game.

Expect a skirmish mode, a map generator and multiplayer. Space Wolf heroes in the game include Krom Dragongaze, Ragnar Blackmane and their Jarl, the High King of Fenris, Logan Grimnar as well as the Ork Warbosses Grukk FaceRippa and Mogrok da Mangla.

Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach is due out in November 2016. One to watch.
