Old game Grand Theft Auto 3 will be released as a PS2 Classic on PlayStation Network this Tuesday, 31st July.

That's an American date, revealed on the American PlayStation blog podcast - Blogcast.

Maybe that means the European date will be Wednesday, 1st August.

GTA 3 will cost 10 bucks over the pond. It's a straight port - no Trophies, no HD this and that, no nothing.

Grand Theft Auto 3 was recently converted for Android and iOS, as part of the game's 10-year anniversary bonanza. Worked out pretty well on iPad, too, as Eurogamer's GTA3: 10 Year Anniversary review pointed out.

Eurogamer originally awarded Grand Theft Auto 3 a massive 10/10 way back in 2001. A bright and cheery Tom Bramwell wrote, "GTA3 is a luscious, sprawling epic of a game and one of the most complete experiences I have ever encountered."
