White PS3 320GB Slim exclusive to GAME in UK

UPDATE: Sony names new date, addresses GameStop's rival listing.

UPDATE: The GAME-exclusive White PS3 bundle will launch in the UK on 6th July, Sony has confirmed to Eurogamer.

Sony has also addressed the fact that the White PS3 is still available in the UK from GameStop:

"Our office in Ireland negotiated a separate deal in September with GameStop. We believe this was successful and the stock has sold through. Here in the UK from July 6th, GAME will be selling the White PS3 including the two white Dualshock controllers and a free three months of PlayStation Plus. They are selling a different value bundle and are the current UK exclusive partner for Classic White PlayStation 3."

GameStop has separately re-iterated to Eurogamer via Twitter that it is continuing to sell the White PS3 to UK customers.

ORIGINAL STORY: The White PlayStation 3 320GB Slim console will be exclusive to GAME in the UK, the retailer has announced on Twitter.

Exclusive to GAME?

GAME's website lists the SKU as available to pre-order now, priced £239.99.

The bundle comes with two DualShock controllers and 90 days free access to subscription service PlayStation Plus, worth £12.99.

But Eurogamer has been told by Sony that the deal's release date, listed as 29th June, is incorrect. We expect to hear more details soon.

Intriguingly, the White Slim PS3 was previously exclusive to GameStop, where it is still available to buy online for £249.97. Sony says this deal was brokered by its Ireland branch and has now "sold through".

This means GAME's offering will still be, officially, the exclusive way to get a White PS3 in the UK.
