Rockstar ports original PC title to smartphones.

Max Payne Mobile, a smartphone version of the first PC game in the third person action series, launches for iOS devices on 12th April and Android on 26th April, Rockstar Games has announced.

It's the complete 2001 original made-over with HD graphics, high-resolution textures, Social Club connectivity and customisable touch screen controls.

The following iOS devices are compatible: iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch 4, iPad, iPad 2 and iPad 3rd gen. Rockstar said it would make a similar Android list available soon.

The release ties in nicely with the impending arrival of Max Payne 3 on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, which is due in shops from 18th May.
