Sony Computer Entertainment has confirmed the heavily-rumoured Jak and Daxter HD Collection is indeed coming out.

"We can confirm the Jak and Daxter Collection is coming and will have more news to share shortly," a spokesperson told Game Informer.

Overnight, a listing for Jak & Daxter Trilogy Edition was spotted on the German video games rating board USK, backing a retailer listing for the game spotted early last month.

That retailer listing pegged the game for release on 20th January 2012 - although that remains unconfirmed for now.

Naughty Dog teased a PS3 comeback for Jak & Daxter in 2009.

Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, released on PS2 in 2001, scored 9/10 on Eurogamer. Jak 2: Renegade, released on PS2 in 2003, also scored 9/10. Jak 3, released 2004, took home 8/10.

Sony has a habit of remastering its best PS2 games for PS3. Ico and Shadow of the Colossus were re-issued earlier this year. Sony has also remastered both the two PS2 God of War games, as well as the two PSP God of War games, for PS3.
