id Software has reportedly confirmed that Doom III game source and the tools necessary to exploit it will be released shortly after the game hits retail in early August. The same reports also state that a level editor will be included in the retail package.

This is of course fairly typical of id, which is generally very eager to support the mod community with its wares. Meanwhile, former Nine Inch Nails man Chris Vrenna (aka Tweaker) has released the theme tune to Doom III on his website. You can hear the tune in its entirety by heading here and selecting it in the little music player applet.
