The murmurings of a special edition orange GameBoy Advance SP made their way to our office on April 1st, and so the rumours were met with some consternation as to whether to report on it or not. We'll we're now able to tell you what most of you already knew: Yes, there is an orange GBA SP, and yes, we want one.

Nintendo is manufacturing the special "Torchic" version of the SP in conjunction with Pokémon Center in Japan. The unit goes on sale at the same price as a regular SP system (12,500 yen) and is identical save for the colour and an engraved silhouette of Torchich, one of the starter Pokémon in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, on the lid.

The unit will go on sale on April 25th, and Pokémon Center will be taking pre-orders at their Kyoto and Tokyo stores as well as the official Pokémon Center website from April 11th.
