AMD and Intel reach 1Ghz
has posted a report that AMD will have 1GHz Athlons on sale by the end of this month! This follows a report on news.com that Intel will be introducing a 1GHz "coppermine" Pentium III processor this month, although it is likely to be in very short supply for months to come, whereas AMD's part should be available in quantity from the word go.
1 GHz, and it's still only March. Who would have thunk it?
