Registered 10 years agoI'm pretty excited by this actually. Looking at the Wii-U they could produce a handheld portable that can be used as a controller on their home console. Couple that with cross-platform game sharing, screen throwing and a linked up online community they'd do gangbusters.
Sony have tried the same and are slightly ahead of Nintendo. If Sony could allow linking PS Phone with PS4 with PSPortable then boom, print all the money you want.
I suppose it would be the start of Playstation/Nintendo as a service but if they offer good crossover, flexiblity and choices they'll flourish.
MS might offer the same as an extension of Smartglass with Windows Phone, Xbox and Windows 8.This signature intentionally left blank.

Registered 10 years agoThey really need to start announcing titles, i agree. There's a couple of great games available but nothing for months as you said. I know Nintendo have backed off a bit in order to give 3rd parties more space but i feel they've sat back a little too much this time.
We need Zelda, Mario Galaxy, Smash Brothers announcements. We know they are coming but they need to build up interest amongst gamers again for this cycle.
Nintendo games sell Nintendo systems. Anything else available is a bonus.This signature intentionally left blank.

Registered 6 years agoMy aim is to enjoy my wii U until the next MS or Sony console is released then most likely trade it in for one of the two (as the wii U is the only console I own).
I suspect this won't be an issue due to my gaming time available, back catalogue of wii games I have never played (Galaxy, Skyward Sword) and the Ninty exclusives that will come.
IF when the next consoles come I still want to keep my wii U then that is most definitely a brucy bonus and it can sit proudly next to what will most likely be the next MS console.
Side question;
Has anyone played a Wii game on the U. Whats the quality like graphics wise? borders on screen? specifically speaking either of the Galaxy games or skyward sword.Goat is hungry.....

@PF: Wii game quality is fine. Basically it's like using slightly better component cables on the original. No clever upscaling or upressing though (it's not any better than the average TV manages).
Getting into the game is a bit backwards though (for security reasons I guess).
