    @imamazed

    Lol, glad to make you feel better mate. A good friend of mine has the same fear as me (which is strange). When we were out drinking once a mutual friend though it would be funny to wrap our pints with opened packets of ketchup. Due to the reaction (non violent, just pure terror) they dont play that joke anymore

    How do you get through the day?

    I lurk. If I've spoken to you, I'm either impassioned, or drunk.

    I was mauled by a dog when I was younger, it grabbed my arm and went tug o war on it. I still have a scar from it 20 odd years later. Luckily my mother and her friend (the owner of the dog) were right there to drag it off or who knows.

    Didn't change my way of thinking about dogs and hasnít affected my fondness for the animals in any way what so ever.

    Sharks. I avoid the ocean - which isn't very convenient since I live in a coastal city

    Did you fear and hate them to start with?

    But not scared enough to not want to enjoy what I'm faced with every day:

    @Deckard1

    Oi. It is a completely rational fear. The ketchup could of been made from the toms from revenge of the killer tomatoes.

    Ok I have no defense. Still fucking scared of it though

    Tomato ketchup. I cant even have a bottle of it on the table whilst I am eating. I hate the way it comes out the bottle as well, yuk. I dont have a fear of blood though so it isnt linked to that
    Could be Oedipal. Is it any brand of tomato ketchup or just Daddies?

    I'm sorry, it was a terrible joke.

    I think Uncle Lou laughed at my terrible joke, while unaware that you had posted that sad news link about the girl being killed by her dogs.

    He then deleted his post in case it was misinterpreted as him laughing at the sad news, not remembering that deleted posts can be see in quoted replies.

    Inertia saw this and wondered why Uncle Lou was laughing at the sad story.

    spindle9988 saw that I had replied to him, but didn't realise it was a joke until after he had replied, when he deleted the post.

    I posted an apology for the joke.

    Could be wrong though.

    A good, reasonable post. I think that covers it.

    Thats the point surely. A phobia is an irrational fear. I know that spiders cannot hurt me (at least in this country), doesn't stop my body and mind going into complete shut down at the sight of a house spider. Its embarrassing and I hate it, but I just can't control it.
    Has the "there's a strange looking spider in my bananas" thread taught you nothing?

    I've very scared of heights. This extends to seeing other people in high positions. So for example photos of 1920s skyscraper construction brings me out in a sweat. It's very irrational, I know that. I've been in situations where friends have been sat with their legs over a drop and I've been 20 metres from the edge holding a tree - as though if I hold it tight enough my friends won't fall.

    Sometimes I do play with it though. I actually like games that play on this fear - such as Tomb Raider. So I will look at stuff like this, though I might get through all the photos before having to look away.

    @Maturin You should watch those Russian kids who like climbing bridges. You'll love them.

    I have. The ones climbing and hanging from the transmission towers. Sometimes I do have to turn them off though.

    I am not particularly scared of heights, but this is too much for me anyhow:
