Wii Fit balances on top of UK chart

Soulcalibur IV denied. Top 40 inside.

Wii Fit has reclaimed the top spot in the UK all-formats chart, bending past last week's winner, Soulcalibur IV, at two.

Following them are faces so familiar we suggest they form a family: Mario Kart Wii at three, Big Beach Sports at four, and Wii Play at five.

Store promotions and big trucks with posters on helped Guitar Hero III take six and Guitar Hero: On Tour occupy seven.

Then came Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, although they're not - the title is misleading. Wall-E, the speechless robot, fell to nine as movie popularity dwindled, and the chart was rounded out by Brain Training at 10.

This week waves goodbye to Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08.

And that's about it.

I usually refrain from commenting on games I haven't played through myself, but BIG BEACH SPORTS ... really?!

Nintendo must rake in cash as never-ever-ever before...

Good thing. Might sponsor some high budget blockbusters in the future... or?

Ninty stole the balance board idea from one some start up called Amiga (not Commodores) had back in 1983: Amiga Joyboard

    So ner!

Nintendo isn't getting any more than the license fee from big beach sports.

Wii fit, Wii Play and Mario Kart on the other hand... ;)

Hmmm, as it's virtually impossible to get Wii Fit how can it be No1? Where are these sales coming from. Been trying to get one for months, not helped I guess by a refusal to pay 20 or 30 quid more than the RRP to people making a profit from Nintendo's incompetence in manufacturing to demand. All my local shops won't take preorders, they expect you to visit them daily to see if they've got stock. Yeah, right...

MGS4 being slaughtered by the likes of Carnival Fun Fair Games and Big Beach Sports is the funniest thing I have seen today.

as it's virtually impossible to get Wii Fit how can it be No1?

The real question should be can it really be classified as a game in the first place?

These are bad times indeed with the amount of casual crap in the game charts
  • IronCladChicken #15 4 years ago

    @CARL05
Yeah, imagine people taking the industry seriously and not writing it off a nerdy crap for lonely spotty teenagers to wank over - the bastards!
  • tonkei #16 4 years ago

Big Beach Sports, a terrible game with a massive advertising campaign and a dirt cheap pricepoint, how can anyone be surprised it's a number 4 hit?
  • HammyWammy #17 4 years ago

Yeah I knew wii fits been selling very well especially this summer. Thats because people been out buying them all from all retailers & then selling them on ebay for double the money. I should know, I became one of them lol. Major summer cash anyone?
