White Knight gets US release date

European one to be announced soon.

Sony America has announced that White Knight Chronicles: International Edition will be released for PlayStation 3 in the US on 2nd February 2010.

Writing on the official US blog, associate product manager Cristian Cardona said that a European release date would hopefully be announced "in the coming weeks".

UK retailers Amazon and Play both list the PS3-exclusive RPG for 19th February, for what it's worth. We've asked Sony UK if there's any word in the meantime.

White Knight Chronicles was rather spiffing in its original Japanese incarnation, as we explained in our import review this February.

For its Western release, developer Level-5 has introduced various new features, too, which you can read about in our Tokyo Game Show report.

Sony obviously likes what it's seen so far, as a second game has already been announced.

Apart from the fact that it should have been localized at least half a year ago when the PS3 actually needed titles.

Did you see the releases list from januari until the end of march? It's fucking packed with high end cutting edge releases

FFXIII hits 2 weeks after that or something to name one.

Not that this game is bad, but it's really going to get swamped. And I'm buying this from the bin cause my money is going to ME2, GoW3, FFXIII, Dante, etc.

    @vertical stand

I get that I really do but it's there own fault as the game has Bern patched to death in Japan. This could be Yakuza all over again..they release it near heavy rain as well? Weird

I am still looking forward to it and as I hate Mass Effect I will probably get it but Level 5 need to have a long look at there dev process imo

Level 5's PS2 games aways took about a year to make their way over to us so 14 or 15 months later isn't that unusual for them.

It's a shame we've had to wait so long for this game. I was hugely excited about this game when I saw the very early video previews around the time the PS3 launched in the US almost three years ago. Now I'm a whole less excited about it, particularly as Final Fantasy XIII comes out just a month later. I may not even bother buying it now... it really depends on how good the English version is and whether the yucky screen tearing from the Japanese version will be fixed.

lol what a joke. Forget it Level 5, don't even bother releasing it over here. Give us, what should be, the superior sequel at a more acceptable date.

ha this is one of the games which made me buy a ps3 at launch.

the problem is i don't think level 5 publish their own games, which obviously leads to a massive delay in getting them out anywhere that isn't japan.

    still, looking forward to it.

we're never gonna get inazuma eleven tho are we? : (

Dark Chronicle was one of my favourite PS2 games.
Ill forgive Level 5 for Rogue Galaxy if this is anywhere near the standard of Dark Chronicle.
