WAR heralds new classes with live event
Earn early access to careers and scenario.
Mythic has announced the start of an in-game event in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning to celebrate the imminent arrival of two new careers.
The Heavy Metal event is a precursor to the December update that will introduce the Knight of the Blazing Sun and the Black Guard to the game. Both classes are heavily-armoured "tank" warriors that were cut from the original release of the game in September for further tuning.
Heavy Metal runs from 18th November to December 1st. If you complete the event's quests, you'll be able to access the new careers a week before they're made available to everybody else.
Heavy Metal also includes a special battlefield Scenario called Reikland Factory. This Empire steam tank factory is open to all players of all ranks, but only for the duration of the event.

Now don't get me for a WoW fanboi, I quit some 2 years ago and I don't see myself coming back WotLK or not. I did try WAR and loved it (for the first month till the servers got deserted, at least on Order side) but what you do comes through as childish and/or fanboyism and a bad advert for WAR at the same time imo ;P
WAR isn't polished, characters aren't great (at least on Order side), graphics are acceptable but pale in comparison to WoW's outdated but stylish feel, and the world feels like some mildly connected zones. I agree that RvR nails the PvP concept in MMO's and that gameplay once in a team is extremely fun (as I'm a PvPer at heart it's more fun than anything WoW ever made possible for me), but, quite simply, this game isn't as flawless in the categories you described as you make it out to be.
I cheer Mythic in their tries to make WAR great, as if anything then involving PvP could get me into MMO's again, but they sure have a lot of work to do. And I'd say adressing the severe population imbalance (both Order vs. Destru and overall low population of servers) should be the first one.

Nice to see Mythic introducing the cut classes back quickly, Order really needs a 2nd good tank (Swordmaster isnt great in my opinion).
Server transfers are starting here in Europe later this week, combined with this its a good start.

AoC died because it failed to give us any endgame or pvp content as advertised at all - WAR has the RVR(pvp) content as advertised there IS a faction war at the endgame as advertised, besides the fact the powerlevelers got bored due to the fact very few were there to fight and many just used WAR as 'somthing to do till Wrath', many still play. Plus WAR was never intending to 'compeate' with WoW, even Mythic feel like doing that was foolish.
Mythic like Turbine wil be looking at their game and building it's playerbase over time, their in no rush or panic in the need to gain more players for that 'WE HAVE X MILLIONS YOU ALL SUCK!' like a certain company does
