UK charts: Wii Fit's 12th top spot

But EA's hot on its heels.

Wii Fit tops the weekly UK chart for the 12th time today, staying ahead of EA siblings The Godfather II at two and FIFA 09 at three.

The strong EA challenge means Mario & Sonic falls to four and Resident Evil 5 slips to five. Professor Layton continues to be popular at six, Mario Kart Wii takes seven and Wii Play sits at eight.

Call of Duty: World at War and Carnival: Funfair Games round the chart out at nine and ten, respectively.

Low-brow releases Dementium: The Ward (DS) and Phantasy Star Portable (PSP) fail to make the top 40.

Disney's Bolt and Sonic and the Black Knight fall off the bottom, while Wanted: Weapons of Fate dives 20 places to round off the list at 40.

Chinatown wars being outsold by Carnival: funfair games. Years after Carnival was released.

It's time we set up a new country and videogame region, where incorrect people aren't allowed to live and good games sell brilliantly.

I'm in! Where do I sign up. I also vote for a free beer law.

I am amazed that Carnival Games drivel is still selling. They must be giving out bars of gold with every purchase or something.

No wonder that Dementium game missed the top 40, I forgot to buy it.

I would have bought Phantasy Star Portable if there had been a more definite release data a month ago when the US version launched. Guess it might be tricky to find other players.

Well, you do get 1 gram of Red Mercury free with every copy of Carnival Games.

And I note Godfather 2's success - worth pointing out that it's not just Wii owners who buy poop.

Why on earth is Godfather 2 so high? has it been heavily marketed?...as there doesn't seem any logical reason why it has done so well.

and I wish Nintendo would advertise some of there other games as much as they do Wii Fit.

Mario & Sonic at the olympics is still up there....shocking.

i want the 2012 London Olympics version already....Mario in stereotyped top hat & monicle sprinting alongside Sonic in his hoodie & matching tracky bottoms. Cant wait.

EG just post this chart to depress readers don't they?

Wii Fit is hardly a game...why not have the Nintendo steering wheel in their as well

^^^ It has gaming elements wrapped up with software to make you fitter. Last time I went to the arcades (February) there was a skiing and a dancing game on display and variations of these mini-games are included Wii Fit but better.
