Tom Clancy's HAWX sequel announced

Coming to consoles and PC this autumn.

Ubisoft has announced a sequel to 2009 flight sim Tom Clancy's HAWX will hit stores in autumn 2010.

The game, which is being developed by Ubisoft Bucharest, was announced via a note on the official HAWX web site.

Versions are planned for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and Windows PCs. Outside of that, all we really know thus far is that the game will "enable fans to once again experience the excitement and intensity that established HAWX as a successful brand", as the PR folks put it.

We were somewhat ambivalent about the first HAWX, noting it was "certainly enjoyable to play" but without the longevity needed to make it a must-buy.

Quite liked the first it was fun. Another one bites the dust Ubiscum...

Just got it yesterday, enjoying it so far. But I do think that after career mode it will get repetitive quickly.

It was only out 6th March 09, sequal going to be released a bit too soon for my liking (looked yesterday as someone said a sequal was announced). Would like to see an improvement on ground level. No complaints from me if it gets delayed.

Quite liked the first when i picked it up for £20 but would've been dissapointed for full price. Unlike ianjose i hope it's more sim than arcade ;)

Hawx was like Ace Combat 6: Total Cretin Edition. Far too simplified and lightweight to be especially challenging or fun.

LIked the first but not in any rush to buy the second, probably give this a miss.

Got the first recently and really enjoyed it, though it's hard to argue with any game for 9 quid.

Looking forward to the second, doesn't need any special improvements, just a few tweaks here and there. Like IceMatt says, not bothered if it gets delayed for improvements, I'd rather a game come out late and kick serious behind than be released on time but be utter shit.
