Tiger 11 won't support Natal
"Not in a position to do so" for this one.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 game will not support Project Natal but will support PlayStation Move.
"We are always evaluating new technologies and Natal would be a perfect fit for the Tiger Woods PGA Tour franchise," an EA spokesperson told Joystiq, "however, we are simply not in a position to do so with Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11."
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 will be released 8th June on iPhone, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360.
Besides PlayStation Move support, big new features are Ryder Cup integration, foursomes, online teamplay for up to 24 people and perhaps a nice pair of scandals I mean sandals.
Sony revealed PlayStation Move to the world this week at GDC. We soaked that up, played every one of the demonstration games and then cornered Sony Europe's Michael Denny for a friendly inquisition.

...until they announce it at MS's E3 press event

You activate it by putting from the rough maybe..

Did you miss the bit where MS announced a wad of publishers who are supporting Natal last year? Or where they said in January of this year that over 70% of all publishers are working on Natal games?
The support is there but we won't know until E3 exactly what they're working on, or if it was even worth me bothering to type this post.

Without motion controls this will be Tiger Woods PGA golf 2010 dressed up with Ryder Cup support.

I didn't, but if you read EG regularly you'll know that all of these jokes have been made many, many times. Every Tiger Woods comments thread has basically been identical since the news broke.

Add Ubisoft, Activision and EA together plus Microsoft's own studios and you'd have 70% of all publishers by volume sales. That doesn't imply that any 3rd party is doing anything substantial with Natal. Same goes for the Move if Sony are making similar pronouncements.

I'm not saying it can't be done on Natal, but I honestly have no idea how. It just seems more naturally suited to a handheld motion controller.

I guess Natal would require some kind of golf club so EA would have to bundle it with something.
Also Would it not support use of a personal golf club?

When I actually picture this in my head it really doesn't look like any sort of improvement...

BUT
"Tiger Woods (insert Natals real name here) Golf" will when its released with it

You're probably right. Still, besides that specific example, i'm quite sure it'll yield some success outside gaming.

I believe you can use anything to simulate the golf club/hocky stick/gun/rubber chicken, what ever you are trying to simulate and the camera will do it's magic turning what you have in your hand into the article on screen, don't know how also would this need to be scanned every time you started the game up? Would holding something different in your hand effect how the camera/software interprets what you are holding?
All seems a little over complicated for a golf game really

Natal probably works, but it's calculations would be entirely different and would need to be built from the ground up.

Of course, it has been ages sinceI heard anything from Allard's project so it could have been cancelled. There was a patent application for it in May 2009...

PS3 Move is scheduled to be released in roughly the same period as Natal so by that logic, it shouldn't support Move either. Though of course Move is so similar to Wii that it's probably very easy to add, which appears not to be the case for Natal.

Indeed. All those moving targets will be difficult to hit if there's any delay...
This is either a delayed-dev-kit thing or a Sony-have-asked-very-nicely thing. More likely the later. There's always the option of patches, which may be necessary on PS3 anyway, unless Move is already 100% guaranteed to be finalised half a year before its release.

"I think Natal's biggest successes will emerge outside video games. Imagine how it'd transform business presentations being able to navigate Powerpoint with Natal. I'm not too sure about how successful it'll be as a gaming platform though."
Personally, I think that's how Natal started out, i.e. as a non-gaming app, and then some bright guy/girl had the idea that this might be cool for gaming as well.

Yes. I can see myself swinging it in our cramped Family Room now ... while everybody else ducks

And since EA release the same basic game every year with only minor tweaks, their engine by this point is pretty dependant on the entire 360 processor being available to them. You can't just patch Natal controls into existing games any more, which doesn't fit with EA's yearly update philosophy.
If all the processing was handled by Natal, like it was originally going to be, then Tiger 2011 would almost certainly be compatible. Decisions, decisions Microsoft. I hope you made the right one.
As it stands, Tiger will be out around June anyway and Natal can get a specific golf game made for it when it releases in October. EA likes money.
