Third LEGO Star Wars game revealed

Based on Clone Wars. Dolly good.

LucasArts and TT Games have announced LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, and said the game will be released this autumn.

This third instalment is in development for DS, PS3, PSP, Wii and Xbox 360.

The animated Clone Wars television series provides chief inspiration here, and all of the familiar faces from the show will be recreated. There will even be some fan-favourites from the Star Wars films making appearances.

New inventions include head-to-head battles with friends and an upgraded level builder, which offers base and battlefield customisation.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars lets players be either Jedi or Separatist, and there are new gameplay features such as squad command, Lightsaber slice, Lightsaber jump, long-range Jedi attack and Grapple Tie-Ups to enjoy.

LEGO Star Wars was where LEGO's and TT Games' brick-based love-in all began, of course - before Indiana Jones, Harry Potter and Batman.
