LEGO Star Wars III gets a date

Kenobi far off now.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars will be released in the UK on 18th February, Activision has announced.

This time it's the Clone Wars television series getting the blocky treatment. And there are new gameplay features on offer, too.

You can fight your friends in head-to-head battle, for instance, and play as either Jedi or Separatist forces.

You can control battalions of Clone troopers, throwing them head-first into the droid rank and file in "RTS action LEGO style".

There's even the chance to take to the skies in block-built spaceships and explore 16 star systems. What's more, we're promised "mega" boss battles.

All that and the level editor has been improved.

Oh, there are new Force powers, too.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars is in development for DS, PS3, PSP, Wii and Xbox 360.
