Telltale has new episodic series for E3

Graphs going up with 1 million sales so far.

Telltale Inc. plans to unveil a new adventure series at E3, following the million-episode-selling success of Sam & Max, Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People and Wallace and Gromit.

There's no word on what the series will be, nor what platforms we'll see it on - Telltale has developed for WiiWare, Xbox Live Arcade and PC.

The announcement comes as Telltale turns five years-old, and proves that prompt episodic content is both possible and successful. Telltale has produced 20 games since spring 2005.

"It used to be we only made two or three games a decade. At Telltale, we release a new game every month, which fosters greater creativity with the teams, and the customers get to enjoy more content on a regular basis," said Kevin Bruner, co-founder of Telltale.

As a celebration Sam & Max Season One and Two, and the entire season of Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People will be half-price on Steam until Monday, 18th May.

Aren't the Sam and Max episodes meant to be coming to XBLA soon?

Good luck to them, I don't know if they've made any significant changes as regards the adventure genre, but Sam & Max has mostly been well written and that's always the key point in these types of games. At least they have a good handle on what episodic content should be like (I'm looking at you Valve).

It'll be CSI,a guy from Telltale was on Gamespot the other day dropping hints. One of them happened to be name dropping CSI.

I'm not sure the Telltale engine will work so well with a more realistic (ha ha, I can't believe I'm using the word realistic to describe CSI) license like CSI.

Telltale's games haven't been great in terms of gameplay, they've been relatively simple graphic adventures, but the strength of the writing carries them, and this is enough for me if the source material is something that I enjoy (as was the case with Sam & Max and SBCG4AP).
