Still no SSFII Turbo HD Remix for PSN
Dead Space, Skate 2 demos instead.
Sony has stuffed the PlayStation Store with new content but there is still no sign of Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.
The highlights this week are demos for Dead Space - focusing on the key game theme of dismemberment - and Skate 2. You can expect our thoughts on the latter next week. It's out on 23rd January.
Magic Ball is the premium game on offer for GBP 7.99 / EUR 9.99. It's a Breakout-style affair where balls topple 3D buildings during physics-based mayhem. Power-ups like lasers and cannons add spice, and you'll find plenty more information on the US PlayStation blog.
WWE SmackDown vs. RAW gains wrestlers Evan Bourne, Ted DiBiase, Super Crazy and Charlie Haas for GBP 3.19. There are masked versions of Kane thrown in, plus Kelly Kelly and Maria in Mrs. Claus outfits, and different clothes for Chris Jericho, MVP, Edge and Rey Mysterio.
Elsewhere, Shaun White Snowboarding expands with two premium packs and a freebie. The two GBP 3.99 additions are The Mile High Pack - new gear and a new mountain - and The Hard Pack, which adds a massive new mountain with extra competitions and side quests. The Freebie Pack adds new clothes and boards.
Moving on, and there's a GBP 2.39 expansion pack for Brain Challenge, bolstering the original with more mini-games, multiplayer games, Creativity mode and Kid Test and Senior Test modes.
A free Savage Moon Theme is up for grabs (our review next week), and there are bundles of Guitar Hero World Tour, Rock Band and High Velocity Bowling extras.
Rock Band gets Lenny Kravitz tracks "Are You Gonna Go My Way", "Freedom Train", "Let Love Rule" and "Mr. Cab Driver" all at GBP 0.99 a piece. Roy Orbison also joins the fray with "Claudette", "In Dreams", "Ooby Dooby", "Oh, Pretty Woman", "Mean Woman Blues" and "You Got It". All are GBP 0.99 or you can throw down GBP 4.99 for a bundle.
Guitar Hero World Tour, meanwhile, gets singles "Low (Travis Barker Remix) [Feat. T-Pain]" by Flo Rida, "What's My Age Again" by Blink-182, and "Lycanthrope" by +44. Each costs GBP 1.59 or GBP 4.39 as a pack.
Finally, High Velocity Bowling gets new characters, costumes, balls and trick shots. Each separate piece costs GBP 0.79. And we're not listing them.

I played that Dead Space demo like 2 months ago already, wasn't that on the EU store?

Been waiting for it for ages but I refuse to get it on 360. I suppose I could make a US account but what if the game doesn't work on my PS3? I've almost given up hope. SF4 ftw.
And yeah, that Deadspace demo has been up for ages, Eurogamer. Almost as bad as having Beyonce's "Listen" suddenly appearing as a "new entry" on various music channels despite being more than a year old.

oh, and been playing SSF2 HDR since November, theres a hell of alot of bugs and disconnects, just getting to play a match is a challenge in itself!!
I hope that they're using this extra time to iron out the bugs for the pal release, because the US one still feels like its in beta...

Some, if not all of the bugs found on the PS3 version are also in the 360 version (many 360 owners complained that the game crashes on the menu screen or locks up the 360).
The beta testing done on the 360 during the summer seems to have been a bit pointless for it to come out in its current state.

Anyway, I'm happy to see that the DLC that I liked the look of, when it was announced on the playstation.blog, has found it's way here now - so I'll probably indulge in that Bowling game, over the weekend.

@ Razorus - are you talking about normal CRT TV's as I'm sure the days of 60hz are over, because people who get a PS3 purchase a nice HDMI LCD screen to go with it. So there is a universal 1080 HDMI - am I correct here?
Well every game released now has some bugs in - look at Tomb Raider Underworld - it's not perfect but it still plays OK.
Well it's their fault if they release it late and get less people buying it that wait for SF4.

I made a US account but I can't use my card because it's a UK one and they won't let me change country when I input my card details. How do I get past this? I had to make a completely new email address and everything just to get here, so wtf?

I'm certain I read you can buy US PSN cards from somewhere and use them, not sure where myself but have a search on the forums or google and you should find something.

Now I'm waiting for the inevitable "net code" problems with the PS3 SFIV to mar the gaming experience while 360 owners play lag-free games into the early hours.
It's piss poor by Sony, and they totally deserve to lose the hardware war. I'm no Microsoft fan, but they have really outclassed Sony from the word go.
It's also interesting to note that when I wasw just in GAME an hour ago, most of their PS3 titles were on sale at discount prices while the 360 versions of the same leading games were still at full price. Except Mirrors edge which was on sale accross both formats (mustnt have appealed to people)

Yep, you're right - the Dead Space demo has been out on PSN in Europe (well, in the UK at least - so I assume Europe in general) since sometime before xmas, I have no idea why EG are reporting it as new content.

I created a new user - signed up for a HK account and when I paid using a UK credit card I put in the first line of my address. and then the country/region I could not change - but it works perfectly and I'm downloading it now!
Go for the HK shop it's sooo much better than the crappy UK version.
You can get all the KOF for PS1 - and Tekken2 & even more - so what are you waiting for?

I didn't change anything in the billing address. I used the same as the sign up one which was Lee Street, Chan District, Hong Kong
or some crap like that.
The only issue is that I have no idea how much money I spent just now. I just said purchase and they didn't add any fund to the wallet, just took my money. :S
Should be regular price anyway.

It says NTSC, 1080i, 1080p etc.
I'm playing my PS3 on a plasma TV with component cable in 1080i. Am I ok, or will it not display properly?

Yes observed the same but DURING the pre-christmas shopping, which is how I got Fallout 3 collector edition for only £20 whereas bog standard X360 Fallout 3 was still at RRP.
The consquence could be that these kind of sales would feed back to the publishers.
