Star Wars: The Clone Wars detailed
Updated with new information.
LucasArts has confirmed the existence of Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Republic Heroes, the cartoon-styled action instalment rumoured last month.
The game is in development for DS, PC, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii and Xbox 360 and will arrive in September. Krome Studios will make all but the DS version, which will be handled by LucasArts Singapore.
Republic Heroes will bridge the gap between seasons one and two of the Clone Wars animated telly series and uncover the secrets of bounty hunter Cad Bane and new Skakoan super villain Kul Teska.
Players can be either Jedi heroes or elite Clone troopers. Playable goodies are Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ashoka Tano, Mace Windu and Kit Fitso. Each can commandeer droids and use Force powers to solve puzzles. Playable baddies, on the other hand, are Commander Cody, Captain Rex and more, and each has a devastating array of firepower at hand.
Two-player co-op will play a central role, and friends can even compete against each other mid-level in a series of challenges.
Let's hope this will be better than Krome's dreadful last effort, Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Lightsaber Duels on Wii.

That said, at this time I can't really say the same for this game

Oddly it was released on the PSP.
So go and choke on your Clone Wars Lucas!

I will never ever buy anything with any of that Clone Wars stuff in it.
Before you say "but Clone Wars era Star Wars is for the kids" - I say "so were the original films, why the hell didn't they set all those balls-ass new cartoons in the original Star Wars Universe?"

Seems to have saved me a lot of heartache some years down the line.

I don't mind the prequels or the Clone Wars or anything, I actually think that the prequel films are a lot stronger than the originals in many respects [not characters or story, but as action films they work much better, i.e. the epic duels in Ep. I-III, and they have some of the most incredible visuals of any modern sci-fi film, and I mean in an artistic sense rather than a technical sense] and that, being a franchise that has to appeal to kids, cartoons in between major live-action projects certainly can't hurt, but . . .
WHERE THE FUCK IS BATTLEFRONT 3.
You bastards better have picked it up after FRD went tits-up. It was looking sooooo good :'(

Shame, then again I have been reliably informed that the working engine from the FRD game wasn't anywhere near as finished (or good) as the beta video released.
Still, guess some of us can still dream that another decent Star Wars game will come out in the next few years.

No...it doesn't
OK I may have to rebuy BF2 (more last gen getting my money - games industry please take note). Anyone know if people are playing again on Live? I finally offed it a while ago because online it was officially dead. Maybe BF3 footage rekindled some players!
What about PC online is it big still? I don't know if my PC will handle it (should do my old one handled the 1st) but I'll try it if people still play online.

Cody and Rex are on the good side during the Clone Wars, general order 66 hasn't happened yet.
