Sin City game switches developers News

Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 Wii
News by Tom Bramwell

Red Mile's upcoming Sin City videogame adaptation is no longer in development at Transmission Games, the publisher has revealed.

Speaking to GameSpot, a spokesperson for Red Mile said that the switch took place "quite a long time ago".

That won't leave Transmission Games out in the cold though, because the developer is hard at work on the multiplatform Heroes Over Europe.

The Unreal Engine 3-based Sin City game has been in development since the middle of 2007, but Red Mile is already shooting for a Christmas 2009 launch on 360, PS3 and Wii.

Back in March, Red Mile's Glenn Wong reportedly said that the plan was to finish the first Sin City game in 18 months "and then turn out a sequel every other year after that".

The Sin City title is based on the graphic novels from which the recent film drew its inspiration, and Wong said his firm had chosen to "create an original story based on the characters from the books which, we think, will make for a longer, deeper videogame experience".

I'll be very surprised if this doesn't turn out shit. Switching developers half way through is hardly a good sign, too.

Anybody seen the trailer for Frank Millers "The Spirit"?

After seening it I completely lost my appetite for anything to do with Miller, even though I used to be a fan.

I lose my appetite for anything to do with Frank Miller after reading 'The Dark Knight Returns'. Horrendously overrated comic.

/Controversial.

Remember 'The Dark Knight Returns' is 20 years old but at the time it was revolutionary and so has its place is comic book history. Frank Miller is not for everyone with his noir-ish spin on everything but come on 300 rocked!

I didnt even know there was a Sin City game but the first I thought I had was Madworld is gonna kick its arse. Have to wait and see but not looking good

I know it's over 20 years old and almost single-handedly saved the franchise, but I still didn't think it was that good. I have a review of it on Amazon: it's the fourth one down, titled 'Dissapointing...'

Triggerhappytel,

Hehe, wow you are quite passionate in your dislike for it!

Can't say that its my favourite Batman story either, that would be either Hush or the Killing Joke.

But what do I know because I dont think that 'Arkham Asylum' is all that!

Morrison is way more over-rated than Miller.

I loved the original Dark Night stuff, but the DKII books were utter crap. He used to be great, now he's way over the hill. Miller's work on Daredevil and the book Ronin is imho his best.

The Killing Joke is my favourite Batman book, but I also like the classic Neil Adams stuff. They're seriously underrated, in my opinion.
