Red Mile has confirmed that the videogame adaptation of hit film Sin City will be out in 2009.

According to trade website MCV, a release date has been pencilled in for "early next year". However, there's still no word on which platforms it will appear on.

The Sin City movie, based on Frank Miller's comic books of the same name, was released in 2005. A sequel is out this summer.

Miller is collaborating with Red Mile on the game's development. Flint Dille, who previously worked on The Chronicles of Riddick tie-in and Dead to Rights, will oversee the project and write the storyline.

Speaking last year Dille said, "Frank and I have been having a party coming up with nasty stuff for the game. In true Sin City fashion, some old characters will return, new characters will appear and - without giving anything away - probably die horribly."

Just before Christmas, Red Mile revealed that it had licensed Unreal Engine 3 for Sin City.

Correction:the sequel might come out next summer(2009).The script is completed but the cast is not done yet.

About the game, hope they turned it into some decent thing.Frank Miller being directly involved is a good sign.

After playing Bio-Shock and Mass Effect recently I can only see the continued error of texture build in this Sin City game. >_>

I expect this game will actually be rubbish though, so it won't be as bad if the graphics don't work properly.

Mah, I read Sim City and thought they'd let us forget the lacklustre Sim City Societies. :-(

Sin City 2 THIS summer? Doubt the hell out of that, I would have known about it and seen things by now. I know people.
