Senko no Ronde in May

Japanese shooter for X360.

Ubisoft's latest release schedule has revealed it will be bringing Wartech Senko no Ronde to European shores in May.

The Xbox 360 shooter pops you up against increasingly enormous bosses in a beat-'em-up-style versus battle. The only difference being that you are a spaceship, rather than a person, and you use laser beams and missiles instead of karate chops and Van Damn spin kicks.

It launched back in August across Japan and has received strong reviews.

Unfortunately Ubisoft was unavailable to tell us any more about the title, but we expect all of the features of the Japanese version will make it to Europe, including mutliplayer head-to-head.

http://ww w.armchairempire.com/Previews/X... INFO. http://ne ws.teamxbox.com/xbox/11245/Senk... SCREENS = Clarity, at least until Ubi explain what their anime-look shooter-fighting release is actually all about. :)

Looks like a good concept with some flashy visuals, so colour me interested. I wonder what the soundtrack might be like, though?

Surprised UBI SOFT is doing the porting, i honestly thought they stopped messing with japanese titles espicially for next gen but i guess i was wrong, good for them..

Looks interesting anyways, not all my future purchases are AAA ya know ;)

Yeah, XBLA definately needs more crazy japanese stuff!
    This looks intriguing.

Reminds me of Psychic Force, except with big mech things. I hope it's not as shit.

Actually, I'm fairly sure it's a retail release.

Having seen the footage that [M] linked to (thanks!) I'm still interested, but I seriously hope there's going to be a demo. I'm concerned it might be too easy atm (selectable diff?) but I just really want it to be fun to play. A demo would help this a lot, I think.

It's an arcade conversion. People will complain it's too easy after they keep pressing start to continue, and missing the point entirely. It's also, if such a thing can exist, somewhat like ZOE meets SF2 meets Ikaruga. And yes these are bad examples, I'm picking from ones more people might have heard of ;)

Ive played it its quite good fun, but kinda shortlived in a way, I even have the collectors edition postcards which came with the japanese 360 version, they are ever so slightly paedophilic but then again, they are japanese :p

This looks fun, but I'd never pay full retail price for it. Hopefully Ubisoft realise this as well, and will price it appropriately. Also, it better not lose the Japanese voices.

EDIT: If anything, it's more like a blend of Virtual On and Ikaruga than it is ZOE

    Huzzah for ridiculous Japanese shooters!

just need Ikaruga and DoDonPachi on XBLA now :)
  • Zuiyo #15 5 years ago

It's "Van Damme", not "Van Damn". Also, it isn't "Viva Pinata" either, but "Viva Piņata". I thought this was EURO gamer, man. I guess it is as long as you're not from Belgium or France.

That looks so much like My Kind of Thing!

And Rohow, you're right. Actually, just give us the Treasure all-stars. We got Symphony of the Night. That proves to me that anything is possible. Any machine that lets me play Ikaruga, Silhouette Mirage, Radiant Silvergun, Guardian Heroes, Bangai-O, Sin and Punishment and Gradius V would be... mind-blowing. We know that Treasure is developing a new shmup for the X360, so... please? Pretty please? With a cherry on top!

And Zuiyo, you're right about Piņata, but... Damn, the other one's pun-tastic! :)
