PSN Bionic Commando going cheap News

PlayStation 3 News by Robert Purchese

14 May, 2009

Capcom has lowered the price of Bionic Commando Rearmed on PlayStation 3 for a limited amount of time.

The previously GBP 7 game will drop to GBP 4 for one week, starting today and ending on Thursday, 21st May.

This, of course, is a clever way to build excitement for the proper next-gen Bionic Commando game that launches on PS3 and Xbox 360 next Friday. Our review soon; our hands-on impressions now.

Bionic Commando Rearmed, however, completely revamps the NES game of the 1980s. It's one of Capcom's best downloadable titles, as our Bionic Command Rearmed review points out.

I guess its because there is a lower userbase on the PS3? Damage Control ftw?

Ooh, might have to make me an investment then. Have often thought about getting this, and I enjoyed the demo; just never really got around to it.

Plus I have about £4.50 in credit on PSN at the moment, so it seems like a perfect fit :)

Only thing that disappointed for me was the lack of online multiplayer, would've been an absolute riot.

Despite that, it's still the best PSN/XBLA game there is.

I don't know why but the way you've written GBP 7 and GBP 4 really fucking irks me...

Does this work also for the countries without the pound (aka euro-friendly)?

Total bargain, worth £4 for the funky retro tunes alone.

Off topic, anybody preorder Fight Night 4 and got the code for the demo, because I am still waiting.

They're incoming via a patch, according to Wiki, although frankly I'm unsure that they'll ever appear.

Too bad that the retail version seems to be lackluster. Why did Capcom let Grin handle this? They did a great job on Rearmed but their retail efforts seem to fail: Wanted, Bionic Commando and Terminator Salvation all seem to be getting mediocre reviews already.

For anyone who actually gives a toss, you can play this on the PSP via remote play as well!
The demo played perfectly through the PSP when I gave it ago a while back, I didn't realise that before I got it on 360, so might go and get it on PS3 as well!
