PES cheater booted from cash tournament
Respect the rules, says Konami.
Konami and Play.com have relegated one of the top ranked players in their Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 competition from leader to loser.
The accused played and beat his upcoming opponent in a friendly two days prior to the ranked match, and then tried to post these results as the official outcome of the tie.
But Konami spotted the two day-old timestamp on the file and subsequently removed him from the GBP 50,000 cash prize tournament. Whoops.
"Konami Digital Entertainment Ltd GmbH and Play.com will not tolerate cheating of any kind and reiterates its commitment that only the best players will be eligible to win the competition," explained the statement in a serious tone.
"The tournament is being overseen by Konami's respect PES Rankings team, which is charged with dealing with disputes and has ultimate authority. Those caught cheating will be banned from the competition and will face a ban of up to one year from PES Rankings."
Surely Konami asked for this when it put diving in its game. And Drogba. And Klinsmann. He's in our version.

Nope, it had nothing to do with lag.

Nope, it had nothing to do with diving. It's also extremely jammy to get awarded a penalty for diving.

Anyway, you seem to know rather a lot. Care to shed some light on it?

Ahh I read through the posts on the link. Nice one mate as it was hard to find any info from pesfan. It seems that they played a friendly and Rob took photos of the scoreline to later present as the actual official match. How sad.
