Konami reveals line-up.

Konami has put its name on the Leipzig Games Convention list this afternoon, where it promises to show Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 on PS3 for the first time ever.

Those of you heading out there (we're going too, you know) will also be able to go hands-on with the Xbox 360, PC and other versions of the game, too.

Showing off one of its biggest titles will characterise what the publisher is insisting will be a strong presence at this year's show. Koji Igarashi will be there to show off Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles for PSP, for example, as will Silent Hill Origins overseer William Oertel to "unveil the future of the series".

"We will witness one of the most exciting system changes ever at this year's Games Convention," said Martin Schneider, spokesperson for Konami in Germany. "We can promise visitors and gamers in Leipzig that Konami will play a major role in this gaming year - delivering new games and additions to popular franchises, while producing exciting games for new systems and established formats."

Edit function on 360 PES Konami...seriously, don't even bother showing up if it's not there.

2 vs 2 on Live would be good too.

I'm looking forward to seeing the PS3 version, reputedly THREE times better than the 360 version and occupying 18 GB of BD space according to Konami!

I'm looking forward to the DS version! Apparently not as graphically impressive, but at least 7.4 times more fun than the PS3 version! And if thats 3 times better than the 360 version well then the DS version must be... well thats... thats maths I can't even do!

When is this convention? (It would be nice if you could chuck little things like that in the article EG people)

Edit: Sorry I meant "SEVEN POINT FOUR" not the understated 7.4 I wrote.

Convention is on from 22nd August to 26th August, with the 22nd of August being the press and trade visitor only day, so the main announcements will be on that day.

If PES 08 truly is noticeably better on the PS3 this could very much go in the PS3's favour this Christmas. The new Burnout is another game that's said to run better on the PS3, as does D!RT, so maybe we are starting to see the point when multi-platform games do start to run better on it as they should.

I'm hoping the gameplay is gonna be fixed. Stupid throw-ins, always having a wall for free kicks, defenders taking a year to turn around et al.
but still I'm excited, I mean it can only get better after the tosh that was PES6 on the 360. Right.....?

18gb?! I like PES and all, but exactly what sort of content could they be adding that would take up that much space? Kits made up from tempates (with most being wrong)? The music? The commentary?!
