Winter Assault demo
Gritty.
Released today in the U to the K (and across Europe, but that doesn't rhyme), Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War – Winter Assault is Relic's first expansion pack for, well, you can probably guess what for, and we've got a demo version up on Eurofiles this afternoon.
Weighing in at 362MB, it features a skirmish map and a campaign mission, giving you the chance to take a close look at Relic's integrated the Imperial Guard, for one thing. We also like the tunnel system idea, which allows you to distribute reinforcements to various points on the battlefield without having to nanny them constantly. This drags the recent theme of us being set upon by underground tunnels toward its logical conclusion (i.e. death at the hands of a big man with a huge sci-fi gun).
For more details on the game, we insist you check out what we previously made of it, and you should be able to find it in all good shops when you're done. Even that nasty one with a heart of gold.

But I tried it out at a friends house yesterday and played the first 4 or so missions. Great game! The gold edition will be mine soon I reckon.
Some of the things I really liked:
1. Base building seems to be at a reasonable level. Not to important but you still need it.
2. Reinforcing squads at the frontlines. It reduces some of the transporting...
3. Orks!
