X3: Reunion Leipzig trailer

As in: from Leipzig. X3 does not feature Germany.

Deep Silver has released a downloadable version of the X3 Reunion trailer, that was displayed in all its glory at last week's Leipzig Games Convention.

Developer Egosoft is so proud of its PC and Xbox-bound space combat and trading title that it wants to show all and sundry, so if you have 200MB to spare, you can do a lot worse than check out this promising Elite-styled game.

The PC version is, er, due (see how the 'X' pun was narrowly avoided there) this October, with an Xbox experience expected in console-space early 2006.

I hope this version has better mouse + keyboard control. It plain sucked in X2.

An xbox version released early 2006?! This is complete madness - why not make it 360? If they were launching this as a 360 title in early 2006 then this would fly off the shelves - otherwise it will seriously miss out on coverage...and will Microsoft make sure it's a backwards compatible game for the 360 - methinks it would sit pretty low on their list of priorities. This would be such a shame to see the only elite-style game I can ever remember seeing on a console simply fade out into obscurity...

    A couple of issues.

    1) Why is there smoke in the explosions?

    2) Why does 1 rocket hit a space station and immediately causes an explosion in a different part?

    1) It's not smoke, just clouds of dust and micro-particles
    2) The missile obviously hit some sort of power/fuel line

    Easy! (haven't actually watched it....)

I agree asandbrook that they should be looking to put this on the Xbox 360. It would be the leading 'pure' space game on the system which would guarantee sales. I wouldn't be surprised if they did change from the Xbox to the 360. After all they were well down the road with the X2 expansion before scrapping it and deciding to put it all in a new game.
